Big Iron River
The Big Iron River empties into the little Lake Superior at Silver City, MI. You won’t find much in Silver City, but most people don’t go there looking for anything… so it all works out. You will find a general store and a motel, and this river. There is a boat launch on the East side of the river mouth. Access is easy from a large dirt parking lot with a couple outhouses. Only small fishing boats will want to use this access site… as the river mouth is shallow. This wouldn’t be a great beach for swimming. Lots of big rocks, not much space… but the motel on the other side of the river mouth has a little nicer spot. Good for those staying at the motel! Check out the shoreline viewer, and a map.
