Somewhere…

Hurricane River

“Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter, but will not be able to.” – Luke 13:24

Hurricane River Beach... Northeast and Southwest.

Hurricane River is just up the shore from Twelve Mile Beach (see my previous post). Similar to Twelve Mile, there is a campground and it is still considered part of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. There is a nice campground, and nice day area for picnics. At 7:30 am on the day I visited, the Hurricane River was cold enough to numb my feet in a matter of seconds. Rarely can you find river water more cold than Lake Superior, but this was one instance. There is a nice hiking trail from the campground that goes out to the lighthouse – from which you can see the Grand Sable dunes. There are also shipwrecks just off shore and parts have washed up close enough to see if you go swimming out in the water.

The Hurricane River!!!

2nd swim of the day... and only 7:30 am.

Shipwrecks. This should be good...

Hmmm... Where are those shipwrecks... ?
