Lake Superior Campground
“All wisdom is summed up in two words – wait and hope.” – Alexandre Dumas Pere

I found another beach!
Lake Superior Campground was a surprising find. I was aware of its existence, but was unaware how nice it would be. I say it’s nice because the campground is free (to my knowledge) and it’s right on the beach – which is a nice one. I will say that this is a beach you likely wouldn’t pick for a day trip – simply because it is in the middle of nowhere and you have to go through either Grand Marais or Muskallonge State Park to get there (either of which would make easier day trips). It would, however, make a fantastic place to camp for a night or weekend! Its a small campground though, so don’t assume there will be open spots. The beach, you can see, is very long and has a mix of sand and rocks. Maybe good for rock picking. I’m also betting this is a good place to see ships heading East and West across the lake.
Here is the Google Map. Get here by CR-407 East from Grand Marais. And here’s the Shoreline Viewer.

And its a nice one... as usual.

I love summer.
